A case of separated instrument in the apical region of a severely curved root canal using ultrasonic method
Abstract:Instrument separation within the root canal is one of the common complications of root canal treatment. It cannot be completely avoided under the current economic and technical conditions [1]. It may lead to failure of root canal treatment, cause medical disputes, and is a major concern for clinical physicians [1]. Studies show that most instruments are separated in the curved part or the area beyond the curve of severely curved root canals, accounting for 60% to 90% of the total incidence of instrument separation [2-5].
