Comparison of matching time between home bleaching and office bleaching

Abstract：AIM:To explore the time required to match the efficacy of home bleaching and office bleaching,and to explore the patient's satisfaction and sensitivity.METHODS:Opalescence PF 15％home bleaching system and Opalescence Boost 40％Office bleaching system were used to bleaching 50 cases of physiological yellow teeth randomly selected.A VITA Easyshade colorimeter was used to measure the color change of teeth bleached at home every day until the effect was consistent with that of one in-office bleaching.The bleaching stability of teeth bleached at 1,3,and 6 months was observed.RESULTS:There was no significant difference in △E*value between the immediate and home bleaching treatment on the fifth day(P＞0.05),and there was no significant difference in △E*value between the two methods at each observation stage after bleaching(P＞0.05).In office bleaching,58％of the subjects had different degrees of tooth sensitivity,and the incidence of sensitivity in home bleaching accounted for 28％.Both methods of bleaching treatment were not satisfactory at each observation stage.66％of the subjects were very satisfied with the immediate effect of in-office bleaching,and 80％were very satisfied with the immediate effect of home bleaching.CONCLUSION:15％carbamide peroxide(8 h/d)for 5 days can achieve the effect of 40％hydrogen peroxide(40 min)bleaching in the office,and the color after bleaching is stable good during the 6-month observation period.Of the two bleaching methods,home bleaching has lower sensitivity and better satisfaction.
