Application and progress of digital technology in periodontitis

Abstract：Digital technologies,characterized by precision,minimally invasiveness,and speed,have been in-creasingly applied in the clinical diagnosis and treatment of periodontal diseases in recent years.By visualizing,securing,and simplifying the disease diagnosis and treatment process,digital technologies effectively enhance the efficiency and ac-curacy of medical procedures,reducing patient pain and recovery time.Particularly in minimally invasive periodontal treat-ment,digital technologies provide unprecedented operational precision and convenience to clinicians through high-preci-sion imaging diagnostics and sophisticated surgical navigation systems,significantly advancing the development of minimal-ly invasive periodontal therapies.This article reviews the current application of digital technologies in both clinical treat-ment and basic research in periodontology and anticipates future trends in the field.
