The diagnosis and treatment strategies for diseases associated with gingival enlargement

Abstract：Gingival enlargement or gingival overgrowth is a common symptom in clinic,which can affect chewing,pronunciation and esthetics.Gingival diseases are described detailedly in the new classification scheme in 2018.According to it,we divide the diseases of gingival enlargement into two categories.One is dental plaque-induced gingival enlargement,and the other is non-dental plaque biofilm-induced gingival enlargement.This article reviews the etiology,clinical manifestations,and therapeutic strategies of gingival enlargement diseases.
