Abstract:AIM:To assess the effects of strip crown restoration for primary anterior teeth. METHODS:100 freshly extracted primary anterior teeth without caries were collected. The same cavity shapeas was prepared in those teeth, and then the teeth were divided randomly into 2 groups(n=50). The cavities in group A were filled with composie resin and in group B with strip crowns. The samples were handled 500 times with cooling-heating cycle unit, and then they were splitted from mesio to distal. The gap between filling and cavity walls such as incisor walls, pulpal walls and gingival walls, were measured with electron microscope. The values were analysed with SPSS. RESULTS:The gap mean value of group A was larger than the mean value of group B(P=0.00). In group A, the difference among three cavity walls and the fillings was not statistically Significant (P>0.05), however, in group B was was statistically significant (P<0.05). The gap mean value between the pulpal wall and the filling was the largest. CONCLUSION: The mic-roleakage of strip crown for filling primary anterior teeth cavity is smaller than that of composite resin.
