Topoinhibitionof Toll-like receptor 2(TLR2) on the alveolar bone absorptionin mice with periodontitis

Abstract：AIM:To study the inhibition of Toll-like receptor 2(TLR2) on the alveolar bone resorption in mice with periodontitis. METHODS: 15 BALB/cJ mice were locally treatedwith P. Gingivalis followed by AAV -sh-Luc-YFP(periodontitis group, group P),15 with P. Gingivalis followed by AAV-sh-TLR2 (group P+T) and 15 without treatment(normal controls) respectively. 1 week after treatmentjaw bone samples were harvested,meth-ylene blue staining and HE staining were used to examine the bone absorption. RESULTS:The bone absorption area of group P+T was less than that of group P(P<0.05),the alveolar ridge cres of group P+T was higher than that of group P(P<0.05). There was no statisitic difference between group P+T and the contol in bone absorption and alve-olat ridge crest height (P>0.05). CONCLUSION:Topoinhibition of TLR2 may inhibit alveolar bone absorption.
