Clinical efficacy of Vitapex paste in apexification

Abstract：AIM:To observe the clinical efficacy of apexification with vitapex paste in yong permanent teeth with periapical periodontitis. METHODS:17 yong permanent teeth with periapical periodontitis in 14 patients aged 12~18 years were treated with vitapex paste placed by disposable plastic tips. The effects were evaluated radiographi-cally at regular intervals for 6~12 months.RESULTS:At tne end of follow-up,all of the 14 patients had no symp-toms,and all of the root tips were closed,and the image of the low density was disappeared,and deposition of new bone in bone destruction area was observed. In all 17 teeth,Vitapex showed promising results in root-end growth and the healing of periapical lesion. CONCLUSION:Vitapex paste is effective and convenient for application in apexification of infected young permament teeth.
