Reseach progression in improving the bonding of zirconia-veneer porcelain

Abstract：Because zirconia ceramic has comparably lower translucency,weak veneer porcelain is needed for the esthetical appearance.However,failure of all-ceramic crown with zirconia core has been attributed to the low bonding strength between the zirconia core and the upper porcelain.Many studies have been done with the attempt to improve the bonding between the 2 materials.This review mainly concludes the studies on the design of zirconia framework,surface treatment,veneering technology and veneer thickness.
