Comparison of TFA, Reciproc and ProTaper Next for the root canal cleanness and the amount of apically extruded debris during root canal preparation

Abstract：AIM:To evaluate the root canal cleanness and the amount of apically extruded debris of TFA,Reciproc and ProTaper Next during root canal preparation.METHODS:40 premolars with single root canal were divided into 4 groups (n =40) and prepared by K-file (A),TFA (B),Reciproc (C) and ProTaper Next (D).Root canal cleanness was evaluated by scanning electron microscope.The amount of apically extruded debris was measured.The data were analyzed by IBM SPSS Statistics 19.0.RESULTS:The pollution layer scores of the root canals were as following:group A ＞ D ＞ C ＞ B (between each 2 groups,P ＜ 0.05);the amount of apically extruded debris were as following:group A ＞ C ＞ D ＞ B (between each 2 groups,P ＜ 0.05).CONCLUSION:TFA,Reciproc and ProTaper Next are more effective than K file in cleaning root canal during root canal preparation,TFA is the most effective.
