Abstract:AIM:To investigate the relation between salivary protein concentration and caries risk in 12 years old children.METHODS:132 children were included and divided into 3 groups:high caries risk group(n=50), moderate caries risk group(n=45) and low caries risk group(n=37) by "caries risk prediction model of 12-year-old children".Salivary protein concentration in the subjects was detected by BCA kit.SPSS 22.0 was used to analyze the difference between groups, which illustrated the relationship between salivary proteins and caries risk.RESULTS:The concentration of salivary protein in low-risk group, moderate-risk group and high-risk group (μg/mL) was 1179.092±372.266, 1077.408±327.933 and 978.833±286.136 respectively.high-risk group vs low-risk group, P<0.05, high-risk group vs moderate-risk group and moderate-risk group vs low-risk group, P>0.05).CONCLUSION:Salivary protein concentration is correlated with caries risk in 12 years old children.
