Characteristics of bone development of zebrafish and its applications in the studies of bone diseases

Abstract：Zebrafish has been widely used as an ideal model organism in developmental biology,genetics and pharmacology.Zebrafish plays increasingly important roles in the field of life sciences in the past decades.Zebrafish genome is highly homologous to that of humans,and they share similar characteristics of bone development.Thus zebrafish can be used as a model in the research of human bone diseases.This article reviews literatures of zebrafish researches in the development of skeletal system,aiming to provide better understanding of the methods and progress in the research of human bone disorders.
