The Role of HmuY in the immune response of chronic periodontitis

Abstract：P.gingivalis is one of the important etiological agent of periodontal disease.Iron / heme is an important growth factor,HmuY is responsible for the capture of heme from host heme-binding proteins to maintain the growth and virulence of P.gingivalis.The etiology of chronic periodontitis is complex and its pathogenesis remains unclear.At present it is considered that the main reason is the secondary destruction of immunity.The research status of immunopathogenesis of chronic periodontitis and the role of P.gingivalis HmuY in the immunopathogenesis of chronic periodontitis are reviewed in this paper.
