Abstract：AIM:To evaluate the biocompatibility of an experimental pulp capping material containing quaternary ammonium salt antibacterial monomer.METHODS:According to the international standards of ISO10993,the biocompatibility of the experimental pulp capping material was evaluated by cytotoxicity test,acute hemolysis test,oral mucous membrane irritation test and short-term systemic toxicity test.RESULTS:The experimental pulp capping material showed the cytotoxicity of grade 1,hemolysis rate of 4.1%for the rabbit blood.No mucous membrane irritation effect for the golden mouse and no short-term systemic toxicity effect in SD rats were observed.CONCLUSION:The experimental pulp capping material containing quaternary ammonium salt antibacterial monomer has good biocompatibility.
