Peri-implantitis and its risk factors, prevention and treatment

Abstract：Peri-implantitis is an inflammatory process affecting the soft and hard tissues surrounding dental implants.The common risk factors include plaque microorganism,poor oral hygiene,smoking,occlusal trauma,systemic disease,and so on.At present,conventional treatment methods are mainly mechanical treatment,drug treatment,occlusal adjustment,surgical treatment and so on.In addition,the research on the effect of laser in the treatment of peri-implantitis is gradually increasing,and it is expected to become a new treatment method.This article reviews the studies of the risk factors,prevention and treatment of peri-implantitis.
