Abstract:AIM:To investigate the configuration of the profile of Han adults with individual normal occlu-sion in Xi′an city using the Andrews′six elements of orofacial harmony. METHODS:The lateral photographic images and cranial cephalometrics of 95 adults with individual normal occlusion (Female=48, Male=47) were selected and compared. The images were overlapped and rotated to the natural head position. The measured landmark were:①The anteroposterior position between the maxillary central incisors and GALL line;②The relationship between the distance of glabella to nasospinale, the distance of nasospinale to soft meton and the distance of porion to soft gonion;③The re-lationship between the distance of the mandibular central incisor′FA to hard menton close to half of the distance of por-tion to hard gonion;④The distance between pogonion and Will line. RESULTS:①In Han adults with individual nor-mal occlusion in Xi′an city, the FA of maxillary central incisors falled on the GALL line;②The distance of Glabella to nasospinale, the distance of nasospinale to soft meton and the distance of porion to soft gonion were almost the same;③The distance of the mandibular central incisor′FA to hard menton was close to half of the distance of portion to hard gonion;④Most pogonion falled on Will line, and there was no difference between sexes. CONCLUSION:The profile of Han adults with normal occlusion in Xi′an city meet the esthetic requirement of Andrews′ six elements of orofacial harmony.
