The effect of different root canal wall treatments on the properties of root canal sealers

Abstract：Root canal sealers are of great importance for tight obturation of root canal.The sealing ability of sealers depends on many factors in addition to the physical and chemical properties of themselves.Especially,the pres-ence of the smear layer can reduce the dentin permeability and prevent the penetration of sealers into the dentinal tu-bules,which consequently affect the quality of root canal obturation.To make a good seal between the root canal sealers and the root canal walls,it is critical to select appropriate methods for smear layer removal.In this paper,the effect of different root canal wall treatments on the properties of root canal sealers is reviewed.
