Effects of donor factors on the biological characteristics of periodontal ligament stem cells

Abstract：As a kind of adult stem cell located in the periodontal ligament,periodontal ligament stem cell has great abilities in self-renewing and multi-differentiation,which contributes to its great values in tissue engineering research.Proliferation,differentiation,migration and other biological characteristics of periodontal ligament stem cell can be influenced by donor related factors such as the age of donor,tissue sources,inflammatory environment,high glucose condition,smoking and so on.In this paper,we review the recent research progress of the effects of donor fac-tors on the biological characteristics of periodontal ligament stem cell.
