Abstract：Up -to -date dentists still face a challenge of rescue dental pulp without root canal therapy when treating pulp disease.Formation of tertiary dentin make it possible to maintain pulp vitality.This review mainly introduces the native and abroad studies of the mechanism and signal pathways during the tertiary dentin formation in recent years.
