Misdiagnosis of Florid cemento-osseous dysplasia leading to unnecessary root canal treatment:A case report

Abstract:Florid cemento -osseous dysplasia(FCOD)is a subcategory of cemento -osseous dysplasia that is nonneoplastic reactive lesion.FCOD is often asymptomatic.This case report demonstrates an unnecessary endodontic treatment of teeth with FCOD due to a misdiagnosis as periapical pathosis and briefly reviewes the relevant literature.
