Abstract:AIM:To study the osteogenesis potential of tissue-engineered bone with adipose derived stem cells( ADSCs) for repairing bone defect in dental implant region. METHODS:Bilateral premolars were extracted in 6 Beagle dogs. 3 months later, 2 implants were respectively implanted in each side of the mandibular, and a 5 mm × 5 mm × 5 mm size bone defect was created in the distal area of each implant. ADSCs-platelet rich plasma (ADSCs-PRP) composite gel (n=12) and bone marrow mecenchymal stem cells-platelet rich plasma (BMMSCs-PRP) composite gel (n=12) were respectively applied into the defects. 1 and 3 months after transplation, gross inves-tigation and histological observation were made. The bone density at the grafting area was measured by topographic technic. RESULTS:Immediately after implantation the bone density of ADSCs group and BMMSCs group was 75 ± 9 and77±10(P>0.05),1mouthafterimplantation102±13and101±9(P>0.05),3monthsafterimplantation 109 ± 14 and 111 ± 12(P>0. 05), respectively. CONCLUSION:ADSCs can be a alternative cell source for tissue-engineered bone for repairing bone defect in dental implant region.
