Application of case-based learning and problem-based learning teaching mode in the pre-internship training of endodontic disease

Abstract：AIM: To investigate the effect of case-based learning ( CBL ) and problem-based learning ( PBL) teaching mode in the pre-internship training of endodontic disease. METHODS:65 pre-internship students in the department of endodontics were randomly divided into CBL-PBL teaching group ( n=33 ) and traditional teaching group(n=32). After pre-internship training, theoretical examination, clinical case writing examination and question-naire were carried out. RESULTS:The scores of students in CBL-PBL teaching group were higher than that in tradi-tional teaching group(P<0. 05). In addition, the learning initiative, the ability of doctor-patient communication and self-confidence of students in CBL-PBL teaching group were better than that in traditional teaching group(P<0. 05). CONCLUSION:CBL-PBL teaching mode can improve the teaching quality in the pre-internship training of endodon-tic disease.
