Abstract:AIM:To observe the changes of surface contact angle of tooth surface after application of potas-sium mixed nano-hydroxyapatite( nHA) , and to study its effect of bonding strength between zinc polycarbonoxylate ce-ment ( ZPCC) and the enamel. METHODS:The surfaces 40 dentine samples were treated by nHA, potassium mixed nHA(K-nHA) and Gluma desensitizer (Gluma) respectively(n=10). The contact angle on the dentinal surface was measured. Titanium metal blocks were then bonded to pretreated tooth surfaces, the shear strength was measured by u-niversal test machine. RESULTS:The contact angle of dentin surface was in the following order: control >Gluma group>nHA group>K-nHA group (P<0. 05). The shear strength was stronger in experimental groups but with no statistical difference (P>0. 05). Fracture mode data did not show statistically significant difference among groups (P>0. 05). CONCLUSION:nHA, K-nHA, Gluma desensitizer has no negative impacts on the bond strength of ZPCC.
