Expression of NLRP3 inflammasome in experimental acute pulpitis in mice

Abstract：AIM:To investigate the expression of NLRP3 inflammasome in dental pulp tissues of experimen-tal acute pulpitis in mice.METHODS:40C57BL/6J mice were randomly divided into 4groups(n=10).The mice in control group received no treatment .The dental pulps of the mice in other 3 groups were exposed for 6,12 and 24 h, respectively.At different time points,the animals were sacrificed and pulp tissues were examined by HE staining.NL-RP3 expression was observed by immunohistochemical staining .RESULTS:HE staining revealed acute inflammation in the pulp of experimental mice.NLRP3 was detected in the cytoplasm of odontoblasts in normal dental pulps.In the inflammatory pulp tissues,both odontoblasts and fibroblasts expressed NLRP3.CONCLUSION:NLRP3 is expressed in the normal and inflammatory pulp tissues,and possibly plays an important role in the development of pulpitis.
