Abstract:AIM:To evaluate the effect of rehabilitation of dentition defect with severe teeth attrition using implant-supported prosthesis combined with traditional prosthesis.METHODS:10 Patients of dentition defect with severe teeth attrition were treated. The provisional restorations were used to restore vertical dimension of occlusion and to adjust the jaw position to rest position. Then implant-supported prosthesis combined with fixed prosthesis was used for dentition rehabilitation the 10 patients received 57 implants.Clinical parameters concerning implants and restora-tions were evaluated at follow-up visits patients were followed up for 3 1 -40 month.RESULTS:All patients main-tained good oral hygiene;implant survival rate was 100%,and implant success rate was 96.6%.2 implants in 2 pa-tients had alveolar bone loss (1 .8 mm)and soft tissue recession (1 .5 mm)without compromised aesthetic result. All patients were satisfied with function, aesthetics and comfort.Neither complications related to TMJ nor masseter muscle disorders was observed.CONCLUSION:Rehabilitation using implant-supported prosthesis combined with traditional prosthesis for patients with dentition defect and sever teeth attrition can effectively restore their facial esthetics and oral function.
