Evaluation of the effect of simulated teeth and the extracted teeth on the improvement of the comprehensive quality of stomatological students

Abstract：AIM:To evaluate the effects of simulated teeth and the extracted teeth in the teaching practice for stomatological undergraduates.METHODS:Simulated teeth were used in practic teaching for the students enrolled in Heibei United University in 2008 (experimental group),both simulated and extracted teeth were use for those en-rolled in 2009.The effects were analyzed.RESULTS:Final comprehensive exam showed that various results and total scores of the theory knowledge and experimental operation skill of the experimental group were better than those of the control.Self assessment indicated that the satisfaction degree of the experimental group was higher than that of the con-trol (P<0.05)except for the teamwork evaluation(P>0.05).CONCLUSION:The application of simulated teeth and extracted teeth in the practice teaching can lay a good foundation for students to improve their clinical comprehen-sive quality.
