Research advancement in periodontal risk assessment models

Abstract：Although the risk factors associated with periodontal diseases have been well understood , how to make an overall evaluation of periodontal susceptibility of the subjects to diseases remains a big challenge .In the past two decades , the emergence of web-based periodontal risk assessment models provided dentists with an objective , ef-fective and accurate analytic tool to assess the potential periodontal risk of patients .This paper is to review the current view of the advantages and clinical applications of these periodontal risk assessment models .
