Comparison of visual field of microscopic root canal therapy on differert molars

Abstract:AIM:To evaluate the difficulty degree of different molars when do root canal therapy by comparison of the visual field under dental operating microscope (DOM). METHODS:The first 80 consecutive molar cases that presented to the Endodontics Department of Stomatological Hospital of Jiangsu Province for microscopic therapy were included in this study. Each group included 20 cases. After accessed the cavities, two residents evaluated the visual field of each case under DOM (13. 6 ×) independently. RESULTS:The first maxillary molar shows best visual field under DOM. The second mandibular molar is worst. The visual field of maxillary molar is better than the mandib-ular molar. CONCLUSION:Location of tooth affects the difficulty degree in microscopic RCT.
