Analysis logistic regression on related factors of dental fear among six to twelve-year-old children

Abstract:AIM:To detect he related factors of children's dental fear among six to twelve year-old-chil-dren. METHODS:A total of 420 children from six to twelve years old who came to see dentists were sampled by using clinical ratings of anxiety and comparative behavior evaluation system. The data gathered from 402 valid questionnaires was analyzed with logistic regression. RESULTS:The survey showed that 199 out of 402 children suffered from DF with incidence rate of 49.5%. The result of single factor analysis revealed that different dental experiences, different situations before treatment and whether or not their parents have DF were significantly associated with children s dental fear. The result of multi-factor analysis showed that different dental experiences, different situations before treatment and DF of their parents had a significant association with DF. CONCLUSION:Different dental experiences, different situations before treatment and DF their parents whether of may influence the children's DF.
