Correlation of chronic periodontitis and preterm

Abstract：Chronic periodontitis (CP) is an infectious disease and is the cause of adult tooth loss. Recent studies demonstrated that CP is also an important risk factor of preterm with low birthweight. This review summarizes the cytokines related to both diseases and discusses the possible correlations of chronic periodontitis and preterm with low birthweight.
