Abstract：Metabolomics is the new formed offspring of biology besides genomics,transcriptomics and protomics.It is an important part of functional genomics.Metabolomics offers great potential for uncovering novel biochemical pathways and illuminating normal and pathological function through seperation and quantitative analysis of metabolites of cell.Successful development of metabolomics requires technologies that rapidly detect,identify and quantify multiple metabolites.This is a review about microbial metabolomics and its'applications.
