Abstract:AIM:To evaluate the amount of bacteria from the margin of restorations and the microspace between the restorations and the cavity walls to evaluate the microleakage from different restorations in an artificial cariogenic model.METHODS:Forty specimens of cavity prepared on the labial side of extracted teeth were randomly assigned into 2 groups 20 with of in each group, which were restored with Fuji-Ⅱ or z-100 respectively. After thermal cycling and sterilization, the teeth were put in the artificial carious environment for 30 days. Then bacteria in the margin of the resto-ration and the microspace between the restoration and the cavity wall were collected.Microleakage was evaluated via dyeing.RESULTS:The amount of bacteria from the marsin and the microspace in the group of ruji-Ⅱ was significanty less than those in the group of Z-100(P<0.05).The microleakage around Z-100 Was significantly serious than that around Fuji-Ⅲ(P<0.05).CONCLUSION:In an artificial cariogenic model,Fuji-Ⅱ might be a better restorative material than Z-100.
