Abstract:AIM:To observe the adhesion and growth of hSHED( stem cells from human exfoliated deciduous teeth ) in the leaching liquor of PLA in vitro and the osteogenic induction of PLA. METHODS: The hSHEDs were cul tured , and the cells were identified by immunohistochemical method. The compatibility of the biomaterial was evaluated by MTT assay. Alizarin red staining was employed to measure the osteogenic differentiation of SHED. RESULTS: SHED was successfully isolated and cultured. By immunohistochemical staining, we found that SHEDs were positive for vimentin but negative for DSP. The proliferative ability of SHED on PLA has no obvious difference from the control group by MTT method. The Alizarin red staining showed that calcium deposition in the experiment group was more than that in the control group. CONCLUSION: PLA possesses a good cellular compatibility with SHED. As an engineering scaffold, it induces the osteogenic differentiation of SHED.
