Clinical analysis of tooth length obtained with the Digora system
Abstract:AIM: To study the size distortion of Digora images produced bythe bisecting-angle projection. METHODS:Tooth length and trial gutta-percha point length measurements were made from 1100 Digora trial point radiographs with the Digora system's measuring tools. Actual tooth lengths were calculated by the ratio formula. The mean difference between the radiographic tooth length and the actual tooth length of each group was analyzed. A positive value denoted that the Digora image length was elongated. A negative value means that the Digora image length was shortened. RESULTS:Except mandibular molar group, the differences of the other groups were positive values. CONCLUSION: Digora images produced by the bisecting-angle projection are usually magnified.
