Lactate dehydrogenase levels of gingival crevicular fluid in patients with periodontitis
Abstract:AIM: Investigation of the relationship between the levels of LDH in gingival crevicular fluid(GCF) of patients with periodontitis and the degree of the desease. METHODS: Levels of LDH in GCF were determined by biochemical method. RESULTS: There were significant difference between levels of LDH in GCF at the sites with and without periodontitis (P<0.001) significant correlations between LDH concentration and pocket depth(P<0.05), and between LDH concentration and atachment levels( P<0.05). CONCLUSION: The observation indicates that the LDH levels in GCF may be used as an index for dignosis of chronic adult periodontitis and for monitoring the curative effect in treatment.
