The effects of mineralized solution containing fluoride and trace elements on the propagation and adherence of mutants of S. mutans
Abstract:AIM: In the presence of fluoride - resistant mutants of S. mutans of high cariogenic potency, the effect of application of fluoride only is limited. The study selected a mineralized solution consist of fluoride and several other trace elements, analyzed its impaction on the propagate and the adherence on S- HA of mutant of S. mutans. METHODS: Continuous anaerobic cultivating technique and describing its effects on propagate of Streptococcus mutans with absorbency(ABS)of bacterial hquid and take cotmt of bacteria. Tagging with 3H - TdR mutant of S. mutans to detect its effects on adherence of mutant of S. mutans and measure it with rate of adherence. RESULTS: The study indicated that the mineralized solution produced more effects of prohibiting the propagation of mutant of S. mutans, meanwhile restraining its adherence to S- HA.CONCLUSION: As far as caries prevention is concerned, mineralized solution containing fluoride and trace elements is more effective than the solution without trace elements.
