Abstract:Glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists(GLP-1RAs)have been widely used in the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)and obesity.Numerous clinical trials have confirmed their cardioprotective effects in patients with heart failure(HF).As a representative GLP-1RA,semaglutide has demonstrated benefits in various cardiovascular events in multiple large-scale cardiovascular outcome trials(CVOTs).Therefore, this study systematically summarizes the clinical trial and basic research evidence regarding the cardioprotective mechanisms of semaglutide in heart failure, aiming to provide a ref-erence for exploring new therapeutic approaches in patients with heart failure.
