Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinicopathological features, diagnosis, differential diagnosis of mammary analogue secretary carcinoma of salivary glands ( MASC). Methods The clinicopathological features, immunohistochemical technology, diagnosis, differential diagnosis of eight MASC cases were analyzed retrospectively. Results All the investigated MASC patients were treated with painless mass as the first symptom. Among these 8 cases,4 cases occurred in the right parotid region,3 cases occurred in the left parotid region. 1 case occurred in the palate. Postoperative pathological examination was consistent with MASC. The immunophenotype of 8 cases of tumor cells were as follows: S 100,vimentin and CK7 were all pos-itive in 8 cases, mammaglobin was positive in 7 of 8 cases, only one case of CK protein expression was positive. The patients had been followed up for 15~64 months,6 cases were found with no tumor survival, local recurrence in one case, there was no distant metastasis, one case died of other diseases. Conclusion MASC is a malignant tumor with a characteristic of breast se-cretory carcinoma occurring in salivary glands. The diagnosis mainly depends on postoperative pathological examination and immunophenotype, combined with genetic examination is helpful for diagnosis.
