Effect of memantine hydrochloride combined with piribedil in the treatment of Parkinson's disease and its influence on cognitive function and motor function

Abstract：Objective To investigate the effect of memantine hydrochloride combined with piribedil in the treatment of Parkinson's disease and its influence on cognitive function and motor function.Methods Ninety-eight patients with Parkinsong disease were selected from September 2014 to October 2017 in Department of Encephalopathy,Yangjiang traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital,Guangdong Province.The patients were divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random block design (n =49).The control group was treated with memantine hydrochloride;the observation group was treated with memantine hydrochloride and piribedil.The clinical efficacy,cognitive function score,motor function score,inflammatory factor level and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results The total effective rate of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group (85.7％ vs.67.3％,t =4.913,P =0.024).The scores of simple mental state examination (MMSE) and Montreal cognitive scale (MoCA) in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group at 6th,10th,20th weeks after treatment (t =7.415,t =7.605,P =0.000,P =0.000).6th,10th,20th weeks after treatment,the Parkinson disease rating scale Ⅲ (UPDRS Ⅲ) score in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group (t =7.512,P =0.000).The serum levels of TNF-α,IL-1β and IL-6 in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group (t =6.724,t =10.322,t =13.255,P =0.000,P =0.000,P =0.000).The incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group (22.4％) was slightly higher than that in the control group (20.4％),but has no statistically significant (t =0.061,P =0.812).Conclusion Memantine hydrochloride combined with piribedil can significantly improve cognitive ability and exercise capacity in patients with Parkinsong disease,reduce the levels of inflammatory factors,curative effect is positive.
