Abstract:Objective To investigate the MR features, treatment and prognosis of solitary fibrous tumor of the central nervous system (SFT).Methods From August 2012 to August 2016, the MR findings of 9 cases of solitary fibrous tumors of the central nervous system and their recurrence after surgery were analyzed retrospectively in the Xinqiao Hospital of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Third Military Medical University. There were 5 males and 4 females, with a median age of 37.1 years. Results There were 9 cases of SFT in the central nervous system, 5 cases in the intracranial and 4 cases in the vertebral canal.MR T1WI showed that, 6 cases showed homogeneous signal, 1 cases of inhomogeneous signal, 1 cases of inhomogeneous signal with slightly low signal, 1 cases of inhomogeneous signal with low signal;T2WI signal manifestations a variety of diversity;including 4 cases of tumor edge T1 and T2 low signal ring;MR was significantly enhanced, strong uniform in 6 cases, inhomogeneous enhancement in 3 cases;brain meninges (spinal) tail sign in 6 cases, 2 cases of tumor vascular signal void, there were 1 cases with spot like low signal in T1WI, and high signal in T2 WI, tumor enhancement degree in the solid part was more obvious. All the 9 patients underwent surgical treatment, and 6 cases recurred after operation.2 of them recurred after reoperation. Conclusion The central nervous system STF is rare, and MR has some characteristics. It is easy to recur after operation. It is recommended to follow up with the MR scan.
