Abstract:Objective To observe the effect of moxifloxacin on the level of serum miRNA in patients with multi-drug resistant pulmonary tuberculosis (MDR-TB).Methods One hundred and twenty six patients with MDR TB who were hospitalized in the Department of respiratory medicine, Yulin First Hospital, Shaanxi from January 2014 to February 2016 were selected as the subjects. The patients were randomly divided into moxifloxacin group (n=63) and control group (n=63).The changes of 3 miRNA (miR-21, miR-29 and miR-142-3p) levels were detected at the time of treatment (T0) and at the time of 3 months after treatment (T1) and at the time of 9 months (T2).Results Compared with T0, the miR-29 of moxifloxacin group decreased significantly (P<0.05) and miR-142-3p (T2) in T1 and T2 (P<0.05), and miR-21 decreased significantly (P<0.05).The levels of miR-142-3p in Moxifloxacin group were significantly higher than those in control group (P<0.05) at T1 and T2, and miR-21 and miR-29 were significantly lower than those in control group (P<0.05) in the control group (T2).Moxifloxacin was negatively correlated with miR-21△3 (9 months after treatment) and miR-29△3(r=-0.588,-0.561,P<0.05), and positively correlated with miR-142-3p△3 (r=0.549,P<0.05).Conclusion Moxifloxacin is helpful to improve the efficacy of chemotherapy in patients with MDR-TB, which may be related to the regulation of miR-21, miR-29, miR-142-3p and other TB related miRNA.
