Left ventricular diastolic function in patients with hypertension and OSAHS between Han and Uygur nationality in Urumqi:A difference analysis

Abstract：Objective To analyze the difference of left ventricular diastolic function in patients with hypertension and obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome ( OSAHS) in Urumqi and Han nationality .Methods A total of 334 patients with hypertension and OSAHS in Urumqi were chosen from the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University and the Sec -ond Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University from October 2014 to May 2016 .There were 243 cases of Han nationali-ty and 91 cases of Uygur nationality .We collected the clinical data and auxiliary examination results .All subjects underwent cardiac echocardiography , overnight polysomnography , 24 hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring .Results ( 1 ) The pulse pressure and body mass index ( BMI) in Uygur nationality group were significantly higher than those in Han nationality group[(56 ±13)mmHg vs.(48 ±12)mmHg, t =3.313, P <0.05;(31.6 ±4.1)kg/m2 vs.(27.8 ±3.9)kg/m2, t =4.996, P <0.05];The lowest blood oxygen saturation ( LSaO2 ) was lower in the Uygur group than those in the Han group [(79.1 ±3.0)%vs.(81.9 ±4.0)%,χ2 =0.213, P <0.05].(2)The left ventricular diastolic peak velocity (E peak),left ventricular diastolic early peak flow velocity/left ventricular late diastolic peak velocity ( E/A) ,mitral E peak deceleration time ( DT) and left ventricular iso-volumic relaxation time ( IVRT) were all lower in Uygur nationality group than those in the Han nationality group[(70.24 ±18.37)cm/s vs.(75.32 ±14.15)cm/s, t =2.386, P <0.05];[(0.83 ±0.28) vs.(0.97 ± 0.36), t =3.749, P <0.05;(174.45 ±50.77)ms vs.(180.70 ±48.60)ms, t =4.342, P <0.05;(96.83 ±17.30)ms vs. (115.97 ±19.32)ms, t =8.578, P <0.05], left ventricular end diastolic diameter (LVEDD) were significantly higher in Uygur patients than those in Han patients [(42.64 ±8.30)mm vs.(39.80 ±6.10)mm, t =2.977, P <0.05].Conclusion Uygur patients with hypertension and OSAHS were more likely to suffer from left ventricular diastolic dysfunction compared with the Han patients in the same region ,which may be that Uygur patients were easily lead to hypoxia ,because of higher BMI and pulse pressure .
