Cerebral lymphoma:a report of 1 case and literature review

Abstract:Objective To improve the understanding of clinical manifestations and imaging features of cerebral lym -phoma ( LC) in order to facilitate early diagnosis .Methods Clinical data of 1 patient with LC were reported and 33 cases in literature were reviewed .Results This patient clinically presented as progressive cognitive decline ,sleepiness and walking in-stability.MR showed abnormal signal with partial enhancement in periventricular white matter , centrum semiovale and basal ganglia .The pathological findings of brain biopsy showed diffuse large B cell lymphoma which was in accordance with the diag -nosis of LC.In literatures, 29 of the 33 LC cases presented as dementia ,17 cases presented as walking instability .27 of 33 LC revealed B lymphocyte ,5 cases were T lymphocyte origin ,1 case was unknown .Conclusion LC should be considered in the diffuse white matter lesions with the onset of mental deterioration and walking instability .Imaging examination may assist in the diagnosis.
