Abstract:Objective To analyze the distribution of 48A/G polymorphism of dopamine D1 receptor (DRD1) gene and its relationship with working memory ability in schizophrenia patients .Methods The DRD1 48A/G polymorphism of 120 cases of schizophrenic patients and 120 cases of healthy controls were assayed with TaqMan-PCR.The cognitive function and working memory ability of two groups was evaluated with Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale Revised ( WAIS-RC) and delayed response test. Results The patients with schizophrenia type AA , AG type, GG type ratio were 23.33%, 35.00%, 41.67%, alleles A, G frequencies were 0.185, 0.875;The control group of AA, AG type, GG proportional respectively to 65.00%, 18.33%, 16.67%, allele a, G frequencies were 0.125, 0.815,there were significant difference between the two types( U =42.692, P =0.000).The levels of math, numbers, symbols, block diagram, digit span (cis), digit span (re-verse) rates of schizophrenia were higher than control groups ( F =38.205, F =70.583, F =47.402, F =13.449, F =80.623, P =0.000, P =0.000, P =0.000, P =0.000, P =0.000), and math, numbers, symbols, block diagram, digit span (cis), digit span (reverse) rates of schizophrenia of each genotype was not statistically significant ( P >0.05).The genotypes spatial memory , reaction time and memory and voice memory in the face of schizophrenia were shorter than control group leader ( F =214.52, F =256.76, F =198.54, P =0.000, P =0.000, P =0.000), spatial memory, face and voice memory recall correct rate were lower than the control group ( F =490.32, F =129.78, F =37.865, P =0.000, P =0.000, P =0.000), while GG digital spatial memory , face and voice memory and memory reaction time was longer than the AA genotype, AG type (P<0.05), and spatial memory, face and voice memory recall correctly rate were lower than AA , AG type ( P <0.05).Conclusion There exist relationship between 48A/G DRD1 gene polymorphism and working memory dys-function in schizophrenia patients .
