Clinical efficacy and changes in brain natriuretic peptide of patients with acute cerebral hemorrhage in treatment with edaravone

Abstract：Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of edaravone on acute cerebral hemorrhage and its effect on the levels of brain natriuretic peptide and copeptin .Methods Eighty-four cases of patients with acute cerebral hemorrhage were selected, which were treated in hospital from February 2015 to February 2016, and they were divided into the study group (42 cases) and control group (42 cases).The patients of the two groups were all treated with maintain water balance , anti-platelet aggregation , control blood pressure , regulate the levels of blood sugar and blood lipid , giving brain cell activation agent and other conventional symptomatic and supportive treatment .The patients of control group were treated with neurology convention-al treatment.On the basis of control group , the patients of study group were treated with edaravone injection (30mg dissolved in 100ml saline, intravenous infusion, 2 times /d, continuous application for 14 days).The clinical efficacy and changes of the area of edema, hematoma volume and the levels of IL-6, CRP, TNF-α, ET, VEGF, BNP, copeptin of two groups were compared .Results After the appropriate treatment , the patients of the study group got a total effective rate of 88 .1%, which was significantly better than the 66.7%of the control group (χ2 =5.509, P =0.019);In the terms of IL-6, CRP, TNF-α, ET, VEGF, BNP, and copeptin , the patients of two groups were all significantly decreased than before ( observation group:t =20.255, t =14.953, t =21.531, t =8.841, t =16.398;control group:t =10.771, t =12.615, t =11.736, t =4.841, t =7.574, P =0.000),and the patients of the study group got more significant decline ( t =13.657, t =7.146, t =17.063, t =4.441, t =11.489, t =4.264, t =4.288, P =0.000);In the terms of the area of edema and hematoma vol-ume,the patients of two groups were all significantly decreased than before (observation group:t =13.496, t =23.520,control group:t =8 V.058, t =8.717, P =0.000),and the patients of the study group got more significant decline ( t =5.664, t =11.893, P <0.000).Conclusion Edaravone can improve the clinical curative effect of acute cerebral hemorrhage patients , reduce BNP and copeptin , improve the neurological function , improve the formation of brain edema .
