Abstract:Objective To assess the left ventricular structure and function in patients with uremia before and after he-modialysis ( HD) by echocardiography. Methods Retrospective analysis the clinical data of 312 cases of uremia patients who treated with HD in the Sichuan Mianyang 404 Hospital from January 2012 to June 2015.The changes of left ventricular struc-ture and function in uremic patients before and 6 months after dialysis were compared. Results Before dialysis, the left ven-tricular diameter was enlarged, the left ventricular diastolic function and diastolic function decreased;6 months after hemodial-ysis, left ventricular diameter reduced, ventricular septal pacing and ventricular wall increase, reduce the degree of valvular regurgitation.Compared with before dialysis, six months after dialysis, LVPW, IVS, LVMI were significantly reduced ( P <0.05), LVEF, FS increased significantly, TEI significantly decreased ( P <0.05), while the comparison between LAD and LVEDD showed no statistically significant ( P >0.05), and SV, CO, E, A, E/A’s difference was not statistically signifi-cant ( P >0.05).Conclusion Echocardiography is helpful to understand the degree of cardiac dysfunction in patients with uremia, and to evaluate the improvement of cardiac function after HD.
