Efffect of Tongxinluo capsule on patients with lacunar cerebral infarction combined vascular cognitive dysfunction

Abstract：Objective To observe the effect of Tongxinluo capsule on adjuvant treatment of lacunar infarction (LI) complicated with vascular cognitive impairment (VCI).Methods Sixty-eight patients with LI and VCI were enrolled , they were randomly divided into control group and treatment group with 34 cases in each group , 2 groups were given conventional treatment, the treatment group treated with Tongxinluo capsule at 3 capsules, tid, treatment for 4 months, the mini mental state check scale (MMSE) score, ability of daily life (ADL) score, fibrinogen (Fg) and the changes of blood rheology were compared between the 2 groups.Results Compared with pre treatment, the 2 groups after treatment, MMSE score, ADL score, Fg and hemorheology were improved ( P <0.05), and the treatment group’s MMSE score, ADL score, high shear and low shear of Fg and red cell aggregation index better than the control group ( P <0.05), but no significant differences were found in whole blood high shear viscosity and the whole blood low shear viscosity ( P >0.05).The treatment group had 5 cases occurred with adverse reactions (14.7%), the control group occurred in 3 cases (8.8%), the difference between the 2 groups had no statistical significance ( P >0.05).Conclusion It proved that the Tongxinluo capsule could improve cogni-tive function in patients with LI complicated with VCI , also could improve the patients with Fg , blood rheology , it had certain significance for the treatment of LI combined with VCI .
