Abstract:Objective To explore the offect of surgical treatment on left to right shunt congenital heart disease pulmo -nary artery ectasia in low body weight infants .Methods From January 2006 to January 2010 ,12 cases of ventricular septal defect , atrial septal defect and ventricular septal atrial septal defect with pulmonary aneurysm infants were enrolled , age 4-16 (8.8 ±3.2) months;body weight 4.5-8.0(6.9 ±2.1) kg;height 56-83 (67.4 ±9.5) cm.Using color Doppler echocar-diography before surgery ,and 3 months,6 months,1 year,2 years after surgery in infants aorta , the main pulmonary artery and left ventricular end-diastolic diameter (LVEDD), right ventricular end-diastolic diameter (RVEDD) and LVEDD/RVEDD ra-tio.Result 12 patients were successfully treated by surgery ,3 months, 6 months, 1 year and 2 years after surgery the main pulmonary artery diameter was significantly decreased compared with preoperative ( P <0.05).6 months, 1 year and two years after surgery RVEDD/LVEDD decreased significantly compared with the preoperative (P <0.05); after 1 year and 2 years RVEDD/LVEDD also significantly decreased compared to 6 months postoperative ( P <0.05 ) .Conclusi on Left to right shunt congenital heart disease pulmonary artery ectasia low body weight infants after surgery can achieve good clinical re -sults.
