Abstract:Severe forage shortage during the cold season in Shigatse,Xizang had formed constraint on the sustain-able development of local animal husbandry. To screen high-yielding and supreme Avena sativa L.varieties suitable for high-altitude environments,a field introduction trial was conducted on 5 oat varieties in Saga county,Shigatse.Agronomic traits, biomass structure and forage yield were measured at the flowering stage. The results revealed highly significant differences(P<0.01)among varieties in agronomic traits such as plant height, stem diameter, tiller number and distribution ratio of dry matter in stems, leaves and panicles.QY2 exhibited optimal performance in plant height(112.15 cm),stem diameter(4.13 mm)and fresh forage yield(16,766.82 kg·ha⁻²),while QY3 achieved the highest hay yield(5,695.12 kg·ha⁻²),with the distribution rate of panicle dry matter at 35.63%,indicating out-standing dry matter conversion rate.Random forest analysis identified fresh forage yield, variety type and effective tiller number as the primary factors influencing hay yield. The TOPSIS comprehensive evaluation demonstrated that QY2 and QY3 exhibited the best overall performance, making them suitable as primary recommended varieties for high-altitude areas such as Shigatse and southern Xizang, providing varietal support for local cultivated forage pro-duction and animal husbandry development.
