Abstract:Under the influence of global climate change and human activities, the pattern and quality of forage re-sources in Qinghai Province and Xizang Autonomous Region have undergone significant changes, thereby impact-ing the spatiotemporal distribution pattern of livestock yield.Based on livestock product and forage yield data, this study has analyzed the output and per capita consumption of beef, mutton and dairy products in Qinghai and Xizang,as well as relevant county-level data in both regions. An in-depth analysis on the spatiotemporal pattern in livestock products in Qinghai and Xizang was conducted and their influencing factors were identified. The results showed:(1)Temporally,beef output experienced an initially slight decline followed by a significant rise, and mutton and dairy product output exhibited linear growth in Qinghai, whereas beef output experienced overall linear growth, dairy product output exhibited exponential growth, and mutton output showed an initial rise followed by a decline in Xi-zang.In 2022,per capita consumption of beef in Xizang(93.64kg)far exceeded that of national average(7kg),and per capita consumption of dairy products there(233.95kg)surpassed both that of national average(42kg)and global average.(2)Spatially,beef output displayed low volume in the central part and high volume in the northeast and southwest, mutton output showed gradual growth from the southwest to northeast, and dairy product output exhibit-ed gradual increase from the northwest to southeast in Qinghai, whereas beef predominated in the east and mutton predominated in the west in Xizang. In conclusion, beef and dairy product output exhibited a rise in most counties of both regions, while mutton output exhibited a decline.(3)With an increase in the average county-level forage yield,county-level beef and dairy product output showed a significant rise, while county-level mutton output experienced no significant changes in Qinghai, whereas that of Xizang showed a significant decline. In contrast, with an increase in total county-level forage yield, dairy product output showed a significant rise in Qinghai, whereas beef, mutton and dairy product output all showed significant rises in Xizang. This study provides valuable insight for decision-making in livestock product industry and offers a scientific basis for the sustainable development in animal husband-ry on the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau.
