Abstract:With the intensification of climate change and increase in catastrophic climate events, animal husbandry on the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau is situated at the core of a"complex of contradiction"involving"climate change, ecological environmental protection, livelihood and sustainable development of local residents".This paper compre-hensively reviewed researches on the animal husbandry vulnerability and adaptation on the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau under climate change from the perspectives of the unique sensitivity and typicality of the plateau in the context of climate change, its impact on grassland ecosystem, its comprehensive impact on livestock carrying capacity and pas-toral economy, and extreme climate events and animal husbandry. The results show that:on the one hand,as this re-gion is an important ecologically vulnerable area in China, ecological barriers, water conservation, wetland protec-tion,biodiversity conservation and ecological security are its main functions and prerequisites.Therefore,appropri-ate animal husbandry development and its vulnerability reduction is an important strategy for the sustainable devel-opment of animal husbandry on the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau. On the other hand,as it is a sensitive and vulnerable ar-ea to global climate change, the risks associated with climate change and the region's vulnerability and uncertainty under future climate scenarios are intensifying, posing greater threats and challenges to ecological environmental protection. This study holds strong practical guidance and utility value for the development of strategies for live-stock to adapt to climate change, ensure ecological security and guide the sustainable development of animal hus-bandry sector on the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau.
